Overview
Har ki doon trek in the abode of Garhwal Himalayas meaning “The valley of Gods” surrounded by beautiful peaks is one of the finest treks in Uttarakhand. Situated in the heart of Fateh parvat marking it’s entry through Govind National Park makes it rich in flora and fauna which is suitable for both beginner and experienced trekkers. Situated at the altitude of around 12000ft, 44 km of trekking distance comes with a lifetime experience of walking through the beautiful pine forest, rivers, glaciers, ancient villages and heavenly flowers such a Bhojpatra and Bhrahmakamal. Some folktales also believe that the Pandavas walked the same route to heaven through the swargarohini group of peak, thus it is also know as the “stairway to heaven” which indeed is true. Seven day journey starting from Dehradun to sankri by taxi and then by trekking is a must have trek in a lifetime of all the trekkers and even nature lovers. This will be a breathtaking experience for all the visiters to get lost in the heavenly beauty of Himalayas and experience the local culture of Garhwal. The best time to visit this trek starts from December and continues till April.
